Carlsbad provides a refreshing variety of cultural activities, including reasonably priced concerts, plays, musicals, dance and visual arts.  Instruction is available through private teachers and various organizations.

The Carlsbad Community Concert Association sponsors an annual series of concerts and the Carlsbad Community Theater produces dramatic productions and a much anticipated summer musical.  Additionally, the Carlsbad Arts and Humanities Alliance sponsors major dance, theater and musical productions featuring both local and touring groups.

New Mexico State University at Carlsbad furnishes a well-rounded curriculum of community interest and adult education classes.
